In the last bargaining session Aramark and the Union agreed to a 60 day extension of the custodial and maintenance services contract, which is set to expire at the end of September.
Your Union has also filed unfair labor practice charges against Aramark with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). It is your Union’s position that Aramark is in violation of federal law because of their refusal to provide your Union with financial information on the Company that they are required to provide to under federal law. The NLRB is now investigating those charges.
Your Union Bargaining Committee is also pressing the Company to comply with contractual provisions designed to preserve full time jobs. At least 70% of custodial positions at Aramark should be 40 hour per week jobs. Even though Aramark recently added new schools, the Company wants to continue cutting hours of our bargaining unit members.
The next round of bargaining is scheduled for September 4 and September 5 at your Union Hall.
